<title>More people living in America speak Spanish than any other language other than English. Obviously then, there is a great demand in the job market for employees who are fluent in Spanish. However, for that very reason, I imagine that there is also a great supply of job applicants who speak Spanish. Furthermore, wouldn&#8217;t an employer prefer someone for whom Spanish is his or her native tongue rather than a second language? Therefore, would learning Spanish really make me more competitive?

I am sure that the correct answer varies according to the industry and location in which you are seeking employment. To avoid making my question too narrow, I will not specify an industry. I will state, though, that I live on Long Island, NY.</title>
