I am currently learning Spanish and can read and write at around a 3rd or 4th grade level. I can speak fairly well and have little trouble with pronunciation. My problem is that when I listen to Spanish I can’t understand it!!! Is this normal? What should I do to get better at it?

I have taken three years of spanish and am going to take spanish 4 next year, but i don’t feel like im getting the language good enough. I want to be in the Green Beret, so i need to be fluent in a language. WHat can i do to get better at it? Also i think Swahili would be a cool thing to learn. How hard is that to learn for a native english speaker?
