I would take at least a couple of classes to get the basics down. Then maybe find a social group where you can learn idioms and phrases. Since spanish and Italian are both latin based you might be able to learn both. I know I would have trouble keeping the 2 languages separate as I was learning. Buena suerte! You need to surround yourself with the environment. It is not only the language, but also the culture. Move somewhere where is only Spanish or you are going to have to go back to school.
