Are you sure they “only allow Spanish to be taught”? Or is it they can no longer afford to pay for French and German teachers and made a decision to cut the language programs to just one?
And the bigger question about Obama is just silly – he wants our children to be literate in English first and then be exposed to foreign languages from around the world.
Obama has no power over what your local public school is offering. While I think that Spanish is the most helpful and useful for Americans to learn, I agree with you that it should be a choice, I mean, it’s America right?
Your daughter’s rights are not being infringed on here. She can still learn and speak any language she chooses, she will just need to find another means besides her school to do so. What if somebody else’s daughter didn’t want to learn French, German, or Spanish, but rather Portuguese. Does the school need to hire a teacher just for her?
Hey cheapskate Have you tried using your own money to pay for her to learn another language…please keep my tax dollars out of YOUR kids extracurricular activities
My kid wants to learn horseback riding should the schools pay for that too?

Calm yourself. Obama is suggesting teaching our children a second language is a good idea… and it is.
Who knows want he will do if elected. But I agree with you on language of choice.

Its better to know a second launage there. I only got one way of speaking thats english.

Maybe that TRILLION dollars BUSH spent in Iraq could of gone to teaching your child French and babykatter’s daughter horseback riding
If he is elected, all the illegals will become citizens, all the whites will be at the back of the bus speaking Spanish.
